Rome Newsroom | June 2, 2022, 7:25 AM

Visitors to Assisi can once again see the body of Blessed Carlo Acutis, the first millennial to be beatified by the Catholic Church.

Acutis, who died of leukemia in 2006 at age 15, was known for his deep faith and his love of computers. He was beatified in October 2020, and his body was moved to the Italian town of Assisi, where it is now displayed in a shrine.

The body was arranged with dignity for its display for public veneration, and a silicone reconstruction of his face was used, according to Msgr. Domenico Sorrentino, rector of the Sanctuary of the Spoliation in Assisi.

"It is a very moving experience to see the body of Carlo Acutis," Sorrentino said. "He is a witness to the power of faith and the importance of living a life of holiness."
